Pairs Competition

A highly successful day at the office for Josh at the Gravesend Open, as he won the pairs title with Terry Dunford as his partner. They were flawless all the way through and defeated some fantastic players.

Josh Payne/Terry Dunford 4-3 Steve West/Diogo Portela
In the semi final they were up against Steve West and Diogo Portela. It was a tight match and went down to a last leg decider with Portela missing a dart at the bull for the match and Josh punished that and took out the wining double to seal their place in the final.

Josh Payne/Terry Dunford 4-3 Simon Whitlock/Andy Jenkins
In the final they took on PDC’s in form Simon Whitlock and Andy Jenkins.It was again a very close intense game and Josh and Terry won the title in the deciding leg taking the match 4-3.

Singles Competition

Josh Payne 4-0 Marc Hutchison
Josh remained undefeated all day which is some achievement considering the field of players that he was up against. In the first round he took on Marc Hutchison and Josh won that game with ease taking the game 4-0 and progressing to round two.

Josh Payne 4-2 Sam Fuller
In round two he faced a decent local player in Sam Fuller, Josh was 2-0 down but managed to reel off four legs on the spin to won 4-2.

Josh Payne 4-3 Rob Cross
In the third round he faced a very tough opponent in Rob Cross who won this years PDC Challenge tour, it was a terrific contest as expected and Josh won the deciding leg after being 3-2 down and won 4-3.

Josh Payne 4-1 Sam Masters
Josh faced Sam Masters in the quarter final and he was flawless in that game as he won 4-1 to set up a semi final showdown with Tommy Sanwell.

Due to sad circumstances the event had to be stopped before the semi finals took place.

Josh remained unbeaten all day and a great warm up going into next weekends final Development Tour events and the World Youth Championships.
